Made in Texas. These retainers are machined in the Great State of Texas out of 6061-T6 Aluminum. The Bear Claws™ are sold as a set including one Cap and one Base. Both are Type 2 Anodized with Gold, Red, Blue and Black options on the Caps. Bases are Black. The bases will fit snugly to our 38mm and 54mm filament wound motor mount tubes. Attach using JB Weld or similar. Caps are compatible with legacy motor retainers using an ACME style thread.
Very well made, and exactly what was described in description. Just remember this is not for LOC 54mm motor tubes, it says specifically for the tubes sold at BuyRocketMotors. You can get it for your LOC 54mm motor mount it will just take some sanding.

These retainers look and feel excellent. The craftsmanship and finishing looks awesome, and they do their job well. One fantastic thing is that these are perfectly compatible with the Aeropack 54mm to 38mm motor adapter. I've had other retainers that would not allow the Aeropack adapter to fit (rear retention flange washer is larger than the retainers opening). I will likely be putting these on every rocket moving forward.
This is a gorgeous, excellently-crafted-in-the-Republic-of-Texas, rocket motor retainer. Functionally, it appears to be every bit the equal of, though not interchangeable with, the industry-benchmark Aero Pack line of 6061-T6 aluminum motor keepers. In the 54mm size I purchased, the Kozmo Bear Claw is intended to provide a snug fit with BRM's own filament-wound motor mount tubes. I tried the fit on slightly thicker-walled 54mm Blue Tube and the Bear Claw refused to slide on with a prudent amount of force. Maybe after a good bit of sanding on the Blue Tube it will, and I'll give that a try when I use the Bear Claw on my next build. And while the Kozmo Bear Claw description reads "Caps are compatible with legacy motor retainers using an ACME style thread", this apparently does NOT mean Aero Pack. The 54mm Bear Claw cap's ACME threads will not thread on to the "Large quick turn threads" Aero Pack describes it uses on its own 54mm retainer mount and cap. This is my only criticism of the Bear Claw. From every other perspective, and particularly the aesthetic, it's a welcome and worthy competitor to the Aero Pack.
