The AeroTech Reloadable Motor System RMS is an aluminum cased reusable motor in kit form that is assembled by the user. You will need AeroTech RMS-38/720 motor hardware to build and complete the motor for many reliable flights. Motor hardware is available separately in a complete set, and also as individual parts. This motor requires installing a 38mm Forward Seal Disc during assembly. Important: High Power RMS reload kits are not compatible with Mid Power RMS products. You will need to set the desired delay time using the 18-38mm Delay Drilling Tool (RDDT), Not Included. The 18-38mm Delay Drilling Tool (RDDT) is available in the AeroTech Accessories section of this website.

This RMS motor reload utilizes RCSs exclusive White Lightning™ aerospace grade composite propellant formulation, which produces a gorgeous bright white flame with lots of dense white smoke and a throaty roar at lift-off.

The AeroTech motor reload kit comes with 1 rocket motor reload. Reload kits include all internal motor components and FirstFire™ Initiators. Requires HAZMAT shipping via UPS or FEDEX. The sale of this high power motor to persons under 18 years of age is currently prohibited by federal law. This is a High-Power motor requiring Level 2 High-Power certification through NAR or Tripoli to purchase. Orders containing this item will not be shipped until proof of age (such as a copy of a driver’s license) and proof of Level 2 certification is received.

Certified by the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA), the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and the Canadian Association of Rocketry (CAR).

If out of stock, an excellent substitute would be the J270 White Lighting DMS.  It has the same motor diameter of 38mm, the same White Lightning propellant, and has approximately the same total impulse and average thrust; with the added bonus that no hardware is required (although a UDDT delay drilling tool is necessary if you want to trim the delay beyond the built in 14 seconds)!  Check it out here.

Level 2 required. Please respond to your Order Confirmation with proof of Certification level otherwise your package may be delayed. A picture or scan of your membership card or a letter/email from Tripoli or NAR is fine as well.

Reload kit for RMS-38/720 Motors. 38mm Forward Seal Disc required. Shipped with a 14 second adjustable delay.  Use the Aerotech 18-38mm RMS Delay Drilling Tool (RDDT) here to drill the delay to your desired time.

    OK

Posted by Kurt on 6th Dec 2015

    Hi,

Yeah I only wrote OK because I like my standard forward closure on my RMS hardware. Plus I'd have to buy a new threaded closure. No thanks. I've read about failures with these new molded closures. I'm appreciative that BRM enclosed a standard delay so I rate them
5+. I pretty much only use electronics for deployments now so a 14 second smoke delay I like a lot. Just load 'er up, use the altimeter to take care of deployment and enjoy the smoke. No sims, no drilling necessary.

    J350W with standard delay

Thick white smoke, regressive burn. About 1.75 seconds. High initial thrust gets heavy rockets off the pad very well. Maximum liftoff weight 26.22 pounds
