“Composite Performance at Black Powder Prices” is the slogan for a very innovative new line of model rocket motors from AeroTech. The first two motors are designed to compete head-to-head with the black powder “E” and “F” motors recently released by Estes®. AeroTech’s new Economax™ composite motors have significantly more power than an Estes® black powder motor, burn much faster, and are up to 43% lighter. The result: it’s like putting a “Bolt of Lightning In Your Rocket!”

Comes in a Pack of 2.  Delay options are 4, 6 and 9 Seconds; please choose.

Small white flame, thick white smoke, especially for the motor size. Tracks very well. Very flat burn on the long side for the small case. Maximum liftoff weight 5.54 pounds.

    Great Motor

I have purchased these motors a few times now and I could not be happier! I have used them in several Estes Pro Series II rockets and they work great! Will be getting more!

    Great Evolution

I am glad to see Aerotech update it's White Lightening formula in the same manner that it has done with it's Blue Thunder motors. This has resulted in substantially more total impulse in the same size motor. This compact motor has only 15% less total impulse than the venerable G40 which is 50% longer and 40% heavier than the G74.

Additionally, it's thrust curve is better at getting your rocket quickly off of the rod and going straight which is great for heavier rockets.

The motor lit quickly with no chuffing and lifted the rocket clear of the rail in a fraction of a second. Plus the tracking smoke was easy to follow which is a plus.

If Aerotech can scale up this design into the full size G motor casing like the G40, it would offer a White Lightening formula that could rival it's new Blue Thunder motors in power. That would be sweet.
